Annual Sewell Serves event set

Meals on Wheels of Odessa is excited to welcome the team from the Sewell Family of Companies for their annual Sewell Serves.

Sewell Serves will be at Meals on Wheels of Odessa, 1314 E. Fifth St., at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, to load up the boxes for delivery.

Members from the Sewell team will be helping Meals on Wheels of Odessa deliver Senior Boxes, from the Commodity Supplemental Food Program.

CSFP works to improve the health of low-income elderly persons at least 60 years of age by supplementing their diets with nutritious USDA Foods.

“We are so grateful to the team from Sewell for dedicating their personal time to help us deliver these supplemental food boxes,” said Craig Stoker, Executive Director of Meals on Wheels of Odessa. “The people we serve are mostly elderly, and most have been struggling to put food on their tables due to the rising cost of food. These CSFP boxes go a long way to filling an empty pantry.”

Meals on Wheels serves a nutritious meal to homebound seniors and the disabled Monday through Friday in partnership with Odessa Regional Medical Center, which prepares the meals daily. The organization is always seeking volunteers to help deliver the daily meals, and for special tasks like Senior Box delivery. Please call 432-333-6451 or register online to volunteer.

If you or a family member is interested in receiving service from Meals on Wheels of Odessa, call them during office hours, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 432-333-6451.
