A 60-year-old motorcyclist from Hobbs, N.M. Was killed Saturday night at U.S. 62 and CR 215 in Gaines County.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the 63-year-old driver of a tractor trailer failed to yield the right of way at the stop sign at CR 215 and U.S. 62, traveled south across both west bound lanes of U.S. 62 and Virgil Woods, who was driving a Harley Davidson, struck the trailer.
Woods, who was not wearing a helmet, died at the scene of the crash, which happened shortly after 9 p.m..
