2000s stars on stage in MidlandBass hosting the event at Wagner Noel

The best of the boy bands and others are coming to West Texas to celebrate the 2000s.

The Mix 97.9 POP 200’s Tour hosted by Lance Bass of NSYNC is scheduled at 8 p.m. May 18 at the Wagner Noel Performing Arts Center.

Website information details that the tour kicks off summer with Bass hosting stars including performances by platinum-selling artists O-Town, Aaron Carter and Ryan Cabrera. The Pop 2K Tour, press information details, delivers the TRL moments that will take the audience back to the early 2000s.

The live show features performances of the decade’s biggest songs “All or Nothing,” “I Want Candy,” “On the Way Down” and more. A MIX 979 Pre-Show Block Party from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. is scheduled but guests must have a ticket to the show (Pop 2K on 05/18/19) in order to attend the pre-show block party.

Bass, who grew up in Mississippi, rose to fame as the bass singer for the pop boy band NSYNC. He has worked in both film and television and has a production company. In July 2006, Bass came out as gay in a cover story for People magazine. He was awarded the Human Rights Campaign Visibility Award in October 2006, and released an autobiography, Out of Sync, in October 2007, which debuted on the New York Times Best Seller list.
