Laredo man killed in Midland County crash

A 24-year-old Laredo man was killed Saturday night in a two-vehicle crash in Midland County.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Rogelio Antonio Martinez was driving a Volkswagen Jetta west on County Road 54 when he disregarded a stop sign at FM 1788 and was struck by a Chevrolet 3500 shortly after 10 p.m.

Martinez, who wasn’t wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to DPS. The driver of the Chevy, a 48-year-old man from Odessa who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released.
