Dog Rescue R Us, a foster based Animal Rescue located in Gardendale, is set to receive a $11,000 grant investment from national nonprofit Petco Love during a special celebration at Petco, 6209 Highway 191, at 4 p.m. today in support of their lifesaving work for animals in West Texas area.

“Our investment in Dog Rescue R Us is part of more than $15M in investments recently announced by Petco Love to power local organizations across the countr/as part of our commitment to create a future in which no pet is unnecessarily euthanized,” Susanne Kogut, president of Petco Love, said. “Our local investments are only part of our strategy to empower animal lovers to drive lifesaving change right alongside us, We recently celebrated the one-year launch anniversary of Petco Love Lost, a national lost and found database that uses pet facial recognition technology to simplify the search for lost pets.”
“We witness hundreds of dogs being abandoned, abused and often left for dead. The investment Petco Love has given our rescue allows us to continue providing medical care, vaccinations, fostering and transporting of these dogs to their new homes. With PetcoLove’s support, we have been able to also work with “Dog Is My Co-Pilot” in conjunction with the local animal shelter to save even more animals,” Shawn Blair, President, said.
