The Bowling for Fur Babes fundraiser raised $23,674 benefitting Grand Companions Humane Society on Feb. 26 at Diamond Lanes. Additionally, 269 bath towels were donated for their shelter pets. The event featured an online auction, lane sponsors and bowlers. Volunteers and a record 99 bowlers came from Odessa/Midland, Fort Davis, Balmorhea, Kerrville, El Campo, Grapevine and Albuquerque, N.M. Grand Companions mission statement is Helping people Save, Honor and Connect with Pets. The bowlers and volunteers were very generous to support this cause for homeless pets.
