Crisis Center of West Texas announced on Thursday it is now a Bombas Giving Partner.

Bombas is a comfort-focused, basics apparel brand with a mission to help those in need. The company was originally founded in 2013 because socks are the #1 most requested clothing item at homeless shelters. Underwear and t-shirts are #2 and #3 respectively. While the brand started with and is known for its extremely comfortable socks, Bombas used its expertise in comfort to launch into apparel with t-shirts in 2019 and most recently, underwear in 2021. For every item purchased, a specially-designed item is donated to the homeless community. To date, Bombas has donated more than 100 million items to those at-risk, in need, and experiencing homelessness.

Crisis Center of West Texas joins over 3,500 Giving Partners across all 50 states. Thanks to Bombas, CCWTX received 5,000 socks to distribute to those in need, a press release said. CCWTX clients — survivors of domestic and sexual violence and their minor children — often flee abuse with few personal belongings, if any at all. Many also become homeless, relying on family, friends, or shelters like Louise Wood Angel House for housing. This donation helps ensure each client, whether homeless or housed, has their basic needs met.

Crisis Center of West Texas has already served more than 530 survivors and children in 2023, making partnerships and donations like this critical to meeting clients’ immediate needs and to the mission to respond, shelter, and educate to end domestic and sexual violence in West Texas.
