Junior Miss and Little Miss Permian Basin pageant entries open

The 2023 Permian Basin Fair and Expo is excited to announce the opportunity for young girls to compete for crowns, sashes, and titles in the Junior Miss and Little Miss Permian Basin pageants. These pageants are open to girls between the ages of 4 to 16 and offer the chance to develop stage presence and public speaking skills while having fun. The pageants will take place during the Fair’s 10-day run from September 1-10 at the Ector County Coliseum Fairgrounds, Main Stage.

The Junior Miss and Little Miss contests will have different age groups, with one winner from each group. Girls aged 12-14 and 15-16 are eligible to compete for the Junior Miss Permian Basin title, while little girls aged 4 to 11 can compete for the Little Miss Permian Basin title. Four age groups will compete in the Little Miss category, with one winner from each group. The contestants will be judged on their personality, poise, coordination, and presentation, as well as an interview with the emcee on stage. The interview portion is always a crowd favorite, as participants are asked about various topics, such as their pets, best friends, or favorite toys, and their responses are always enjoyable.

Entries for the pageants are due by Friday, August 11. The pageant itself will take place on Sunday, September 3, at 2:00 p.m. Registration forms can be picked up and returned to the Permian Basin Fair Office at 218 West 46th, Monday through Thursday, between 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., or submitted online.
