In celebration of Texas Recycles Day, H-E-B is giving Texans an opportunity for free admission to 10 nature centers across the state. On November 18, 24, and 25, H-E-B is sponsoring free admission to select nature centers, in exchange for one recyclable plastic bottle or single-use plastic bag per person. Guests can take plastic bottles and bags to participating nature centers for free entry, a news release said.

Annual celebrations such as Texas Recycles Days are part of H-E-B’s longstanding pledge to reduce its impact on the environment. Through the company’s Our Texas, Our Future commitment, H-E-B’s mission is to increase awareness, access, and education around sustainability efforts that help preserve land, water, and air in Texas.

Furthering its commitment to supporting sustainable efforts within the community, H-E-B works with Keep Texas Recycling, a program of Keep Texas Beautiful, to help fund municipal recycling grants to cities and counties that need support launching and improving recycling programs. In 2023, H-E-B gifted $157,000 in Community Recycling Grants to support community recycling centers in Texas. Additionally, through funding from H-E-B, the Our Texas, Our Future grants in partnership with Keep Texas Beautiful is providing 10 communities with a total of $25,000 to support educational and programming opportunities related to sustainability, recycling, litter prevention, beautification, and water conservation.
