Cross-sector convening planned to find childcare solutions for the Permian Basin

Permian Basin infant population expected to grow 12% in 5 years

Education Partnership of Permian Basin, in conjunction with the Permian Strategic Partnership and the Permian Basin Workforce Development Board, and with support from Coterra Energy, will host a major regional convening from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, highlighting the challenges and solutions of childcare in the Permian Basin.

The event will be held at the Bush Convention Center, 105 N Main St. in Midland, and is designed to foster collaboration and innovation among school leaders, civic leaders, and community members, within the 17 counties of the Permian Basin Workforce Development Board’s service area, and eastern New Mexico.

The event will include:

  • Sharing data from the Childcare Landscape Analysis Study
  • Panel discussions of innovative solutions
  • Legislative update
  • Collaborative time for civic and educational leaders to brainstorm solutions
