The City of Odessa’s Parks and Recreation Department announced on Tuesday the upcoming Firecracker 5K, set to take place on July 1. This Independence Day themed run will take place at Comanche Trail Park West, located at 900 S Country Rd W in Odessa. This park is located next to Iglesia Del Camino Church. The race is open to all ages, and kids 12 and under are free.
Race registration will begin at 7:00 a.m. The race itself will kick off at 8:00 a.m. The registration fee is $40 per runner, ages 13 and up. Each registered runner will receive a commemorative t-shirt and a well-deserved medal. In the spirit of the occasion, all participants are invited to showcase their patriotic pride by donning their best red, white, and blue attire for the race.
“We encourage Odessans to invite their friends and neighbors to join in this amazing event,” said Meagan Mendenhall, Recreation and Special Events Coordinator, in a press release. “Together, let’s create a joyful atmosphere that brings our community together in the spirit of Independence Day.”
