Animation as Art exhibit at Museum of Texas Tech

The “Animation as Art: A Multisensory Experience” exhibition is now open through summer 2024 at the Museum of Texas Tech, 3301 Fourth St., Lubbock.

Francisco Ortega and Jorgelina Orfila, together with Christine Veras (UT Dallas), are excited to announce their joint endeavor in organizing an exhibition at the Museum of Texas Tech. This showcase celebrates the diverse talents of more than 30 artists from both national and international backgrounds and is being supported by the Society of Animation Studies (SAS).

The multisensory experience showcases animation as a contemporary art medium. The exhibition concentrates on the work of experimental animators, a field of practice that goes beyond the cinematic instantiations of the media as it encompasses devices conceived to create the illusion of movement before the invention of the film camera.
