COLLEGE FOOTBALL: UTPB is going bowling

The UTPB football team will be playing in the postseason for the first time after earning an invitation to face Oklahoma Baptist in the Fun Town RV Heritage Bowl on Dec. 4 in Corsicana.

UTPB was 5-5 in the regular season, while Oklahoma Baptist finished 7-4.

“It’s exciting for our guys to be able to play beyond the regular season,” UTPB head coach Justin Carrigan said in a statement from the school. “I’m looking forward to a couple more weeks with the guys, especially the seniors.”

Quarterbacks Clayton Roberts and Suddin Sapien have guided the Falcons this season, combining for more than 2,100 yards passing and 19 touchdowns.

The Bison are led by quarterback Preston Haire, the Great American Conference Offensive Player of the Year, who passed for 3,166 yards and 39 touchdowns.

Tickets will be $10 for adults, $5 for children. Go to utpbfalcons.com for more information.
