Dine and Donate Week returns to Press Café to benefit Pink the Basin

Last year, the Press Café introduced its Dine and Donate Week fundraiser to give back to Pink the Basin after its annual fundraising luncheon was canceled.

The week-long fundraiser, where 100 percent of revenue was donated to Pink the Basin, proved to be popular as over $30,000 was raised in 2020.

This year, the fundraiser will make its return as the luncheon for this year has been postponed to a later date.

Dine and Donate Week will take place from Oct. 18-23 at the Press Café, which is located inside the Sewell Ford Dealership at Parks Legado Town Center.

During Dine and Donate Week, every cent paid by diners is given back to Pink the Basin.

“Our team sat down earlier this year in 2021 along with the team at Press Café and we reflected on some of our most memorable moments from 2020 and Dine and Donate week was one of the biggest,” Team Sewell Marketing Director Andrew Marshall said. “It was our busiest week of the year at Press Café because they made it all happen. So they wanted to bring it back this year and support Pink the Basin. It was important for them to do that because Pink the Basin wasn’t able to have its annual fundraiser luncheon this year again. It’s the second year in a row. It was important for them to support that organization again this year.”

Marshall says the team at Press Café is hoping to match or beat last year’s mark of $30,000.

The fundraiser will allow Pink the Basin to secure much-needed donations and the contributions will remain in the Permian Basin and support local women with mammograms, diagnostics and prostheses.

“I think the cool thing is that it started as a negative situation,” Marshall said. “Last year, we were coming out of COVID and we’re friends with people at Pink the Basin. One of the interesting things is that everyone on our team knows somebody who has had breast cancer. It’s something that’s personal to everyone because everyone knows someone affected by it. … The cool thing is that Press Café has a team of 15-20 people that sit down and say ‘what can we do? How can we help?’ So, for a team like Press Café it was cool that they were able to say that their gift is serving really awesome food and want to serve people and create memorable experiences so they were able to take the gifts that they have and figure out how to make that benefit in a really awesome way.”

Those who want to donate can do so at https://www.presscafe.com/donateptb.

“When they come in, 100 percent of their purchase goes to Pink the Basin,” Marshall said. “They can give an additional donation if they want. But the coolest thing is that Press Café designed this fundraiser in a way (that is) 100 percent community-driven. The more people that come in and buy a meal, the more money we raise. … People were able to take home some good food, or come out and have their business meetings and order food and give the money to a charity. The community-driven aspect is the coolest part of it.”
