NUGGETS: Holy Spirit Power

We used this same scripture before. We could never tell about it enough or even get all the spiritual meaning out of it. “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all in one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it fill all the house where they were siting and there appeared to them cloven tongues as of fire and sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues” [Acts 2:1-4]. There is a lot of controversy over speaking in tongues. I could address that issue today, but I want to get the point across that the Holy Spirit is much more than tongues. Acts One Eight says “But you shall receive power, after that the Holly Spirit is come upon you.”— “and behold, I send the promises of My Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high”[Luke 24:49]. In the Book of Luke, the people were told to wait till they were endued with power from on high and it was fulfilled in the book of Acts. God has endued us with an awesome power so we can carry on the work He started if we let Him become our baptizer. We are His hands extended here on earth. He told us in Ephesians Chapter one that the same power that raised Christ from the grave dwells in us. That awesome combustion power that raised Christ from the dead is available to us. Wow! We just have not been taught how to utilize it.

There was over five hundred that heard Him say wait in the upper room. However like so many responses to the things of God in the world today, the people didn’t even go to the upper room or they got tired of waiting and went home. They dwindled away till there were only 120 steadfast believers there when the Holy Spirit fell. God may have waited on purpose, till there were only those who could be in one accord, filled with faith, and could be trusted with that kind of power. But Oh, My Goodness, what an experience it was. Those that stuck it out received “The Gift of The Holy Spirit.” Jesus Gives us “The Gift”[Holy Spirit] singular. We receive Jesus then He is the one who gives us “The Gift” of The Holy Spirit. He [The Holy Spirit] is the Gift Giver. He gives us the Gifts of the Spirit, plural, Romans 12:6-8, Eph. 4:11, 1Cor 12:8-12. These Gifts flow better when people are in one accord, releasing faith, expecting a move of the Spirit. Jesus said He did few mighty works in His home town because of their unbelief. He gave us the same power He has. He works through us to do the mighty works, however few of them manifest, because of the unbelief all around. God is a God of faith and unity.

“ Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgement: because as He is so are we in this world”[1John 4:17]. Look as He is — Seated in His Kingdom. It says “So are we IN THIS WORLD” As He is so are we. “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in me, the works that I do will he do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to my Father”[John 14:12-13]. Now we will not do greater works in quality but we will in quantity because now the body of Christ is much larger. At that time he was only one person, now we, his Body, are millions. Notice He said, those who believe in Me, now I didn’t say that, Jesus did. This is Just before “Pentecost” a time to think about this awesome Gift.

If you can receive the truth in this writing, you may want to receive this same power, so you can help people as Christ did. If so just pray that the Holy Spirit will come upon you as He did on those the day of Pentecost. If you ask and believe, God will engulf you in His Holy Spirit, He will not allow any other spirit. Read Luke 11: 11-12]. Today we all need the “Holy Spirit Power.”
