WOMEN’S COLLEGE BASKETBALL: UTPB struggles in loss to Midwestern State

WICHITA FALLS The UTPB women’s basketball team could not overcome a cold shooting night, falling 79-57 to Midwestern State Thursday night at the D.L. Ligon Coliseum.

The Falcons shot just 31.3 percent from the field for the game and finished 2-of-20 from behind the 3-point line.

UTPB was led by Sarah Bersang, who finished with a game-high 16 points to go with three assists and two steals.

Khali Pippins-Tryon had 15 points and Lemia Ntor-Ue added 11 points to go with eight rebounds.

Midwestern State had five players finish in double figures led by 15 points from Chelcie Kizart.

Anni Scholl added 12 points and Hannah Reynolds, Kityana Diaz and Courtney Kerr all had 10 for the Mustangs.  

UTPB resumes conference play Saturday when the Falcons take on Cameron University at 2 p.m. Saturday in Lawton, Oklahoma.
