Jan. 28 Odessa police arrested 31-year-old Tasha Murphy and charged her with theft of property with at least two previous convictions, a state jail felony. Officers responded at 7 p.m. Jan. 28 to H-E-B, 3801 E. 42nd St., in reference to a shoplifter. Police made contact with the suspect, identified as Murphy, and investigation revealed she hid about $238 worth of merchandise in her purse and exited the store without making any attempt to pay. Further investigation revealed Murphy had four previous theft convictions. Murphy, 5726 W. Miles St., was being held Feb. 3 at the Ector County Detention Center on $10,000 bond.
