Talk to kick-off National Crime Victims’ Rights Week

A discussion on child abuse prevention is slated to kick off National Crime Victims’ Rights Week today in Odessa during an event hosted by a group of service providers.
The Ector County Victim’s Coalition will host the hour-long forum from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the board room of the Medical Center Hospital. Speakers from the community are expected to talk on this topic.
The focus will be on child abuse prevention as April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. The Ector County Victim’s Coalition meets monthly to network and to help plan the yearly event that kicks off, a press release reported.
“It’s a simple kick-off,” said Krystal J. Peter, a victim’s advocate for Safe Place of the Permian Basin. “We’re trying to get the word out there.”
