Stanton police asking for help in homicide case

The Stanton Police Department is asking the public’s help with any information about the death of a 44-year-old Midland man who was found last week with signs of trauma inside his vehicle.
The man, identified as Lorenzo Gardea, was found at about 8:09 a.m. Jan. 19 in the 200 block of Second Street where Martin County Justice of the Peace J. Hedrick arrived and pronounced Gardea dead at the scene, a press statement read.
An autopsy was ordered and would be performed by the Southwest Institute of Forensic Science, but the case is being treated as a homicide with the help of the Texas Rangers.
Anyone with information can call the Stanton Police Department at 432 756-3303.
