Born and raised in El Paso, Lide attended Texas A&M University where he received his bachelor’s degree and his veterinary degree. He then moved to Odessa in 1979 to work at University Small Animal Clinic, which he eventually bought as his own practice. Along with that practice, Lide also works at the Emergency Veterinary Clinic on Highway 80 where vets are available for after-hours emergencies. Lide also enjoys speaking to students at elementary schools and high schools. He also enjoys having high school students visit his clinic so that he can pass along his love for the industry to other aspiring future veterinarians.
