March 23 Odessa police arrested 48-year-old Roman Alvarado Jr. for an outstanding felony warrant for theft of property with at least two prior convictions, a state jail felony. Officers pulled over a red Ford Ranger, driven by Alvarado, in the area of University Boulevard and Dixie Boulevard at 10:33 a.m. March 23. Police made contact with Alvarado and investigation revealed he had a felony warrant for theft of property with at least two prior convictions. J.C. Penney reported a theft to the Odessa Police Department on March 3. The complainant reported that a man stole merchandise from the store and ran out the doors without making any attempt to pay. Through the course of the investigation the suspect was identified as Alvarado, who had two prior theft convictions. Alvarado, 1208 Oak Ave., was being held March 27 at the Ector County Detention Center on $7,500 bond.
