Report on bid awards on OC agenda

A report on two bid awards for the Sewell Auto Tech building at 2425 E. Eighth St. is on the agenda for the Odessa College Board of Trustees meeting set for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Zant Community Room on the second floor of the Saulsbury Campus Center.

The bids are for automotive lifts and signage at the building. Director of Media Relations Cheri Dalton said the building is expected to open in the last part of August or first part of September.

The former site of the Sewell Family of Companies, which is now at Parks Legado Town Center on State Highway 191, was donated to the college a few years ago.

Employee Excellence Award winners will be introduced and a scholarship presentation from the Odessa Board of Realtors are scheduled.

Some of the other items on the agenda are:

>> A report on a bid for replacement of cardio equipment for the OC Sports Center.

>> The oath of office will be administered to Royce Bodiford, Place 3, Neil Grape, assistant secretary, place 6, and Tommy Clark, president, place 9.

Bodiford and Grape did not have opposition and Clark won his May 4 against Robert Brescia and Laci Harris.

The board also will be reorganized at the meeting.

  • Aimee Callahan, vice president for instruction, will report on the new school alignment.
  • Don Wood, vice president for institutional effectiveness, will give a report.
  • The president’s report from President Gregory Williams will include record graduations on May 10 and May 11; a golf team update and results of a Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges site visit.
