Jan. 7 Odessa police arrested 50-year-old Petra Gonzales Soto and charged her with driving while intoxicated with a child passenger, a state jail felony. Officers pulled over a silver 2012 Ford F-250, driven by Soto, at 10:40 p.m. Jan. 7 in the 400 block of West University Boulevard. Two passengers in the back seat of the vehicle were identified as a 13-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy. Police made contact with Soto and could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her breath. Soto failed field sobriety tests. Soto, 2003 W. Third St., was released Jan. 8 from the Ector County Detention Center on $10,000 bond.
