Outage affects downtown Odessa

A vehicle hit a utility pole Wednesday, damaging a component and causing a blackout that affected 1,900 customers before power was later restored.
The collision was reported at about 11:39 a.m. and occurred in the 400 block of Muskingum Avenue. The impact broke a cross arm that holds the high voltage lines in place, letting one of the lines fall, ONCOR spokesman Gus Ortega said.
The outage affected the downtown Odessa area. Power was restored by 1 p.m., Ortega said.
