OPD: Odessa man arrested after threatening officers

An Odessa man was arrested Monday on charges of threatening to blow up three police officers with a hand grenade and public intoxication.
Miguel Martinez, 37, was arrested on three counts of retaliation, a third degree felony, and public intoxication, a misdemeanor.
Officers were dispatched at about 2:32 p.m. Monday to the Valero gas station, 1700 S. Grant Ave., to check out an incomplete 911 call and found Martinez at the location.
When the officers approached Martinez he reportedly acted in a combative manner and was arrested. But Martinez reportedly threatened to blow up all three officers with the grenade, as well as threaten to “take care” of them, adding that he was a member of the Mexican gang “MS-13.”
Martinez, whose address was listed as a Motel 6 on Interstate 20, was being held Friday at the Ector County Detention Center on bonds totaling $45,000.
