An Odessa Police Department official said one person is dead as a result of a fatal crash in northeast Odessa.
The fatal crash happened around 4 p.m. Tuesday on 52nd Street between JBS Parkway and East Loop 338.
OPD spokesperson Cpl. Steve LeSueur said over the phone the fatal crash resulted in one person dead and another transported to Medical Center Hospital with serious bodily injury.
The westbound lanes of 52nd Street are closed as motorists are encouraged to avoid the area and use alternative routes.
LeSueur said the investigation continues.
