The last piece of the Bond 2012 construction falls into place at 7 p.m. tonight with the grand opening of the new performing arts center at Odessa High School.
Located directly east of the old auditorium the new facility is the last project from the bond passed in November 2012.
The new performing arts center is state-of-the-art; 25,000 square feet, with a seating capacity of about 850 with a black box theater, rehearsal rooms, classrooms and offices for instructors. The cost was approximately $7.9 million.
The gala will feature a performance by each of Odessa High School’s performing arts programs. There are some tickets still available for members of the public who would like to attend. Those interested may call Deborah Tavarez at 456-5858 to find out what is available.
