OFR, Red Cross to install free smoke detectors

The American Red Cross is partnering with Odessa Fire/Rescue to install free smoke alarms and educate Odessa residents on fire safety on Saturday as part of its nationwide Home Fire Campaign (HFC).
Like many people and organizations across the country, the American Red Cross intends to honor the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King by volunteering to help the community on the weekend preceding Martin Luther King Day, a nationwide day of service, according to a news release.
Individual, corporate, and group volunteers are encouraged to visit the link below to sign up for the HFC event on Saturday. Morning and afternoon shifts are available; lunch will be provided. Call 432-563-2267 for more information. Meet us at Floyd Gwin Park Pavilion (1015 N. West County Road) at 8 a.m. or 12 p.m. to make Odessa a safer community.
