Odessa Police Arrest Woman for Making False Report

SUMMARY:
Odessa Police have made an arrest in connection to a false kidnapping that was reported this afternoon in North Odessa. Brenna Rae Rogers, date of birth 02/29/1988, has been charged with False Report or Alarm “Class A Misdemeanor”.
On March 10, 2019 at approximately 1216 hours, Brenna Rogers reported to the Odessa Police Department that her silver Cadillac had been stolen and that her 8-month-old child had been kidnapped by an unknown male in the area of 42nd and Dixie.
Approximately 11 OPD officers responded in an emergency effort to locate the suspected stolen vehicle and kidnapped child. Officers located the listed stolen vehicle in the 3800 block of East University. A high risk felony stop was conducted and the driver was identified as a 32-year-old male and the back passenger was identified as an 8-month-old male.
Investigation revealed that the 32-year-old male was Rogers’ boyfriend and that he was also the father of the 8-month-old child. Further investigation revealed that after Rogers had been in an argument with her boyfriend, she made a false report to officers in attempt to get her child back.
The child was never in any danger and there were no reports of any injuries. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Rogers was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.
