March 18 Odessa police arrested 21-year-old Octavio Gonzales Silva on March 18 and charged him with aggravated sexual assault of a child, a first-degree felony; and indecency with a child by sexual contact, a second-degree felony. A sexual assault involving a 13-year-old girl was reported to the Odessa Police Department on January 19. The suspect, Silva, was identified as a known person to the victim. Investigation revealed that on at least one occasion in Odessa, the suspect sexually assaulted the victim. Further investigation revealed that the suspect also made sexual contact with the victim on at least one occasion. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, detectives obtained two warrants for Silva. Silva, 3125 N. Pecos Road, Las Vegas, Nev., was being held March 22 at the Ector County Detention Center on $75,000 bond.
