NORTH AMERICAN HOCKEY LEAGUE: Mika nets lone shootout goal, Amarillo tops Odessa

George Mika was only player to find the back of the net during the shootout as the Amarillo Bulls defeated the Odessa Jackalopes 3-2 on Friday at the Ector County Coliseum.

Tyler Pietrowski and Zach Heintz each netted goals to give the Jackalopes a 2-0 lead in the third period. Steven Ipri and Phil Fromberger scored the final two goals in regulation to force overtime and the shootout.

Nikita Babintsev made 40 saves in the win, while Jon Flakne had 37 stops for the loss.
