No suspects arrested in homicide case

No suspects have been arrested following the discovery of a dead T-shirt shop owner inside his West 10th Street business.
An autopsy was scheduled Tuesday at the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office for 68-year-old Joe Valenzuela, but authorities have been tight-lipped about the manner in which Valenzuela died. Odessa Police Department officers were dispatched at 8:10 a.m. Monday to Pepe’s T-shirt Etc., 1214 W. 10th St., on a medical aid call, police reported.
When officers arrived and went inside the business, they found Valenzuela dead, which led OPD authorities to investigate the death as a homicide. The OPD did not disclose too many details surrounding Valenzuela’s death, but said his 1997 tan Lincoln Town Car was missing. The Texas license plate number is CY2Z548.
OPD spokesman Cpl. Steve LeSueur said Valenzuela’s vehicle has not been recovered and that the case is actively under investigation. Anyone with information about the homicide case can call the OPD at 432-333-3641 or Odessa Crime Stoppers at 432-333-8477.
