NATIONAL PREMIER SOCCER LEAGUE: Sockers FC earn point in draw with Fort Worth

FORT WORTH After more than a week off, Sockers FC was back in action against the same team it had beaten the last time on the pitch. This time, it was a slightly different result.

The Sockers faced off against the Fort Worth Vaqueros and played to a 0-0 draw Thursday evening at Farrington Field. When the teams met previously on June 15, the Sockers got a late goal to earn a 1-0 victory at Grande Communications Stadium in Midland. Thursday’s result kept both teams tied at the top of the Lone Star Division.

Sockers FC (6-1-2 overall, 19 points) and Fort Worth (6-1-2, 19) each earned a point from the match. The road trip for the Sockers continues Saturday against the Denton Diablos at the University of North Texas.

Fort Worth heads on the road to face the Laredo Heat Saturday at Texas A&M International.
