Murder victim’s name released

Odessa Police Department identified the victim of a homicide at 1214 W. 10th St. as 68-year-old Joe Valenzuela. 

Police responded to a medical call at 8:10 a.m. today at Pepe’s T-shirt Etc. where they found Valenzuela deceased inside the business. Public Information Officer Steve LeSueur said the cause of death is under investigation, but it was being investigated as a homicide. 

Police are also on the lookout for the victim’s missing vehicle. The vehicle is a 1997 tan Lincoln Town Car, with Texas license plate number CY2Z548.

"If anyone comes across that vehicle, they need to report it to police immediately," LeSueur said. 

Valenzuela will be sent to Tarrant County for an autopsy, according to an OPD press release. The Medical Examiner’s Office was notified and responded to the scene.

At this time no arrests have been made and there are no suspects, police said.
