March 25 Odessa police arrested 34-year-old Miguel Derobles and charged him with evading arrest, a third-degree felony; and driving while intoxicated, a class B misdemeanor. Officers attempted to pull over a blue 2010 Chevrolet Silverado in the 400 block of North County Road West at 12:35 a.m. March 25, but the driver refused to stop after emergency lights and sirens were activated. The driver actively evaded police before finally stopping at an open field in the 2200 block of West Third Street. Police made contact with the driver of the vehicle, identified as Derobles, and could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath. Derobles failed field sobriety tests. Derobles, 2204 W. Third St., was released March 25 from the Ector County Detention Center on $15,500 bond.
