March 21 Odessa police arrested 26-year-old Michael McCowan and charged him with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, a third-degree felony; and evading arrest or detention and resisting arrest, both of which are class A misdemeanors. While patrolling the 2900 block of East Highway 80 at 3:02 a.m. March 21, officers saw a suspicious person walking between vehicles located in the Motel One parking lot. Police attempted to make contact with the man, but he immediately began running through the parking lot.
