Jan. 31 Odessa police arrested 28-year-old Katie Goetz on Jan. 31 and charged her with forgery, a state jail felony; and for 10 outstanding misdemeanor warrants. Police also charged 27-year-old Jason Waller II with forgery, a state jail felony, on Jan. 31. Waller was already in custody at the Ector County Detention Center on unrelated charges. Officers responded on Jan. 18 to Kwik Kash, 2804 Andrews Highway, in reference to a forgery. The complainant reported that both suspects fled before police arrived. Investigation revealed that a man and woman attempted to pass a fraudulent check in the amount of $2,000. Surveillance video positively identified the suspects as Goetz and Waller. Goetz, 301 Monticello Drive, was being held Feb. 3 at the Ector County Detention Center on $15,000 bond. Waller, 407 San Jacinto St., was being held Feb. 3 at the Ector County Detention Center on $40,000 bond.
