Justin Presley

March 11 Odessa police arrested 39-year-old Justin Presley and charged him with assault by strangulation (family violence), a third-degree felony. Officers responded at 1:39 a.m. March 11 to the 3900 block of Melody Lane in reference to a domestic disturbance. Police made contact with a 21-year-old woman who was on the ground and bleeding from her left knee and left elbow. The woman told officers she had been assaulted by “Justin.” Police pushed open the front door to the residence but Justin Presley immediately shut it and attempted to prevent officers from opening it again. Officers eventually opened the door and gave commands for Presley to get on the ground but he refused. Police attempted to place Presley into custody but he pushed away and actively resisted arrest. After being tased by officers, Presley stopped resisting. Investigation revealed that after Presley got into an argument with his 21-year-old daughter, he began to choke her with both of his hands, causing visible red marks around her throat. Presley then began to strike his daughter with a closed fist, causing bodily injury on her head, and threw her onto the ground and continued to hit her in the head from behind. Presley, 3915 Melody Lane, was released March 12 from the Ector County Detention Center on $17,500 bond.
