March 10 Odessa police arrested 27-year-old Juan Olague and charge him with assault by strangulation (family violence), a third-degree felony. Officers responded at 10:19 p.m. March 10 to Texaco, 4203 N. Grandview Ave., in reference to an assault. Police made contact with a 26-year-old woman, who told them she had been assaulted by her ex-husband, identified as Olague. Investigation revealed that after both subjects got into an argument, Olague choked his ex-wife and took her vehicle from her apartment. Officers observed the woman’s neck to be red. Further investigation revealed that Olague had never lived at his ex-wife’s apartment. Police followed the woman to her apartment to ensure that there would be no more violence. When officers arrived, they found Olague waiting inside of a vehicle parked in front of his ex-wife’s apartment. Olague was charged and arrested accordingly. Olague, 9301 N. Agave Ave., was being held March 21 at the Ector County Detention Center on $15,000 bond.
