HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL: Permian outlasted by Midland Lee in high-scoring contest

MIDLAND John Wuthrich supplied a grand slam to lift the Midland Lee baseball team past Permian 15-10 in a District 2-6A contest Saturday at Ernie Johnson Field.

Wuthrich posted his home run in the bottom of the fifth inning when the Rebels (5-11 overall, 2-1 District 2-6A) held a 9-8 advantage. Midland Lee finished with 10 hits, while the Panthers posted 14.

Midland Lee’s Brayden picked up the victory for Midland Lee and Permian’s Ricky Campa was tagged with the loss. Tanner Adams supplied a double, which was the lone extra-base hit, for the Panthers (5-12-1, 0-3).
