HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL: Permian beats Andrews, falls to Canyon Randall in Midland

MIDLAND The Permian baseball team picked up a 5-2 victory over Andrews to start the second day of the Tournament of Champions, but the Panthers ended with a 14-4 loss to Canyon Randall on Friday.

In the opener, Ricky Campa threw 6 1/3 innings for the Panthers (3-4-1). He gave up two runs, on five hits and struck out seven. Tanner Adams had two hits.

During the nightcap, Canyon Randall supplied two or more runs in four of the five innings. Permian’s Seth Higdon was tagged with the loss and Rhett Bratcher supplied a two-run double in the third inning.
