GOOD NEWS: Art Presentation

The Chamber of Commerce of Andrews graciously accepted artwork from the family of the late, well-known artist, Lucio “Rosco” Orozco. The donated piece is displayed in the chamber offices until the Means Ranch House Museum is operational. Rosco’s artistry was viewed by generations of West Texans on KOSA TV, channel 7 during his 32 year tenure as Art Director. Most aren’t aware that he never had an art lesson in his life or that he traveled to surrounding towns each week night (after his day job) to teach art lessons. His mentoring of aspiring artists and his commitment of time and talent to the Permian Basin communities are a testament of his generous spirit. His family and Rosco’s Canvas Facebook page are dedicated to sharing his art with those who fondly remember him. For more information, call 432-528-2894.
