1. The Sears store in Odessa will close this spring as part of a wave of closings nationally for the retailer, Sears Holdings announced in a statement Wednesday.


2. Last week, with their savings after years of hard work and some investments from friends, Odessan Van Cao and her husband Phuc Nguyen realized a long-held goal by opening Pho House. It’s a restaurant specializing solely in Vietnamese cuisine, a project they began in April.


3. A group of 25 Odessa Police Department officers learned how to deal with aggressive dogs Wednesday during a session that highlighted the steps officers can take to avoid having to use force.


4. An Odessa man who reportedly told Ector County Sheriff’s deputies he broke into a storage building to seek shelter from the cold was arrested on suspicion of burglarizing the facility.
