Destiny White, Christopher Salas

March 11 Odessa police arrested 19-year-old Destiny White and charged her with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and tampering with physical evidence, both of which are third-degree felonies; possession of a dangerous drug, a class A misdemeanor; and possession of a controlled substance (marijuana), a class B misdemeanor. Police also arrested 27-year-old Christopher Salas and charged him with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and tampering with physical evidence, both of which are third-degree felonies. Officers pulled over a red 1999 Ford pickup, driven by White, in the 2300 block of North Tom Green Avenue at 12:34 a.m. March 11. The front passenger was identified as Salas. Police made contact with White and Salas and they both were shaking and appeared to be extremely nervous. Officers searched White and found marijuana and Xanax inside of her pocket and more than two grams of methamphetamine hidden in her underwear. Salas was holding a methamphetamine pipe in his hands. Police searched him and found green baggies hidden in his underwear. The vehicle was also searched and officers found three bags of marijuana and methamphetamine. White, 1420 S. Washington Ave., was being held March 21 at the Ector County Detention Center on $32,000 bond. Salas, 2221 E. 11th St., was being held March 21 at the Ector County Detention Center on $30,000 bond.
