Texas Department of Transportation workers responded to a bridge strike at FM 866 and Interstate 20 in Ector County on Tuesday.
An initial assessment of the incident shows damage on the outside beam, according to a TxDOT news release. TxDOT workers will be onsite again about 10:30 a.m. today for more inspection and there will be a temporary lane closure during that time. According to the release, TxDOT officials do not anticipate the need for any weight restrictions on the overpass or long-term lane closures.
