COLLEGE SOFTBALL: Odessa College eliminated from regional tournament

WOODROW The Odessa College softball team saw its season come to an end Sunday evening as it fell 11-3 to Howard College in five innings at NJCAA Region V West tournament at Lubbock-Cooper High School.

The Lady Wranglers (33-21 overall) fell behind 4-0 after the first inning and couldn’t keep pace with the Lady Hawks. Becca Duran finished 1 for 3 and drove in two runs for Odessa College in defeat. Howard College (xx-xx) advances to Clarendon College at noon Monday with the winner facing Midland College for the title.

Earlier on Sunday, the Lady Wranglers defeated El Paso Community College 9-1 in five innings at the NJCAA Region V West tournament.

Illy Cisneros finished 3 for 4 with two doubles as the Lady Wranglers (31-21) finished with 16 hits. Seven Odessa College players had a least two hits. Duran was 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs, while Madison Zaccardo was 2 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs.
