COLLEGE SOFTBALL: Midwestern State sweeps UTPB

WICHITA FALLS The UTPB softball team finished its series with Midwestern State Friday, falling 3-2 and 8-0 as the Mustangs completed the three-game sweep of the Falcons.
The conclusion of the series was moved up due to forecasted inclement weather on Saturday.
After playing six scoreless innings, UTPB (9-32 overall, 3-21 Lone Star Conference) lost the first game by an error when Bailey Wamsley scored an unearned run in the bottom of the seventh inning.
UTPB had eight hits and one error in the first game while Midwestern State (19-16, 10-14) had one hit and three errors.
The Falcons couldn’t generate any offense in the second game as Midwestern State surged ahead with six runs in the first inning and added two more in the fourth.
