Jan. 25 Odessa police arrested 33-year-old Augustine Kola Falana Jr. and charged him with aggravated assault (family violence), a second-degree felony. Officers responded at 5:38 p.m. Jan. 25 to the 800 block of Snyder Street in reference to a disturbance. Police made contact with a 56-year-old man and his step-son, identified as Falana. Investigation revealed that after both men got into an argument over a dog, Falana picked up a wooden chair and threw it at his step-father. Officers saw a severe laceration above the step-father’s left eyebrow. Falana, 809 E. Snyder St., was released Jan. 27 from the Ector County Detention Center on $35,000 bond.
