Jan. 29 Odessa police arrested 43-year-old Amelia Peppentenzza, also known as Amelia Carrasco, and charged her with theft of property with at least two previous convictions, a state jail felony. Officers responded at 6:15 p.m. Jan. 29 to H-E-B, 2501 W. University Blvd., in reference to a shoplifter. Police made contact with the suspect, identified as Peppentenzza, and investigation revealed that she hid about $88 worth of merchandise in her purse and exited the store without making any attempt to pay. Further investigation revealed Peppentenzza had six previous convictions for theft of property. Peppentenzza, 1711 Permian Drive, was released Jan. 30 from the Ector County Detention Center on $7,500 bond.
