March 25 Odessa police arrested 25-year-old Adam Rey Armendarez and charged him with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), a third-degree felony; and driving while license invalid with prior convictions, a class B misdemeanor. Officers pulled over a black Chevrolet Blazer, driven by Armendarez, in the area of 42nd Street and Lyndale Drive at 7:50 p.m. March 25. Police saw an open 25-ounce Budweiser beer on the floorboard. Officers could also smell marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Armendarez was found to be in possession of two bags of methamphetamine. Armendarez, 1301 McKinney Ave., was being held March 29 at the Ector County Detention Center on $15,500 bond.
